Dr. Mark Melson is a board-certified ophthalmologist and diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializing in the diagnosis and management of eyelid, tear duct, and orbital diseases.
The Road to Mastery
A native Virginian, Dr. Melson attended the University of Virginia, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce with a concentration in Accounting. Following college, he briefly worked at a leading international public accounting firm before starting his own small business consulting firm in Washington, D.C. While in Washington, Dr. Melson completed the Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program at Georgetown University. Dr. Melson graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. After his general ophthalmology training, he completed subspecialty fellowship training in oculoplastic, orbital, and cosmetic surgery at the Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
